jetpack email subscriptions not working

I have jetpack email subscriptions in my sidebar, but new users are unable to sign up. My subscribers are still getting their emails, but new people can not subscribe. I tried recently with both my emails, one is gmail, the other is university email through gmail, and only the gmail email worked, the other email did not receive a subscription notice. One of my readers told me that when he tried to subscribe, he got a notice saying “There was an error when subscribing, please try again”. When I tried to enter his email into the subscriptions bar, the page refreshed, but he never received an email. Is there any way to fix this? I can’t figure out what is wrong.
