Jetpack can't connect

I’ve just started to use wordpress.org and tried to set up the JetPack that was provided with my GoDaddy subscription/hosting

I have been getting same message throughout the past day or so:

Jetpack could not contact WordPress.com: register_http_request_failed. This usually means something is incorrectly configured on your web host.

Operation timed out after 15000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received

This seems a bit strange since it was a service provided by GoDaddy so it should be unlikely that they wouldn’t be compatible with eachother?

Anyone had this problem recently and have a fix for it?
