Support » Installing WordPress » iweb to wordpress rerooting to deleted folder

  • Resolved Jemesis

We have created a wordpress site which has been copied over onto the root directory, the old iweb site (which was in a subfolder) was then deleted, along with associated html files in the root. The wordpress site seemed to work fine, however, over night it always seems to default back to the iweb site and the files (although previosuly deleted off the server) seem to appear back there and subsequently overide the wordpress site.
When the wordpress files were transferred onto the root they were placed in the htdocs folder and deleted the iweb stuff was deleted – it did work fine for several hours – but then the next day the iweb folder reappeared and overwrote the wordpress.
I have deleted the index.html file and it has not worked.
Fasthosts are hosting it and say it is a wordpress scripting issue, not a server issue. Please help!

Many thanks, now the website works. In the end it turned out to be a problem with the server. This is what the hosting company said:
    – the issue was due to a storage transfer job which was failing to complete fully – we’ve disabled this and deleted the files from the original server.-
