Hi. I just tried downloading from WordPress.org and got this error message when trying to activate the plugin immediately after install:

The plugin does not have a valid header.

But then I went to the plugins page and activated from there (since it never activated on the first attempt), and it activated just fine.

Is this the same thing you experienced?

Yes, and with errors displayed it generated a lot of errors. But then it didn’t work for me.

I’m still researching the “The plugin does not have a valid header” issue, but I’m not experiencing any other errors beyond trying to activate immediately from the “install successful” screen.

Please try deactivating all other plugins and activating Twenty Fifteen theme and let me know if you still see additional errors. If you do, please provide me with the text or screenshots of those errors so I can research.

    I definitely don’t want errors!

    Thank you.

With TwentyFifteen activated and no other plugins I get the following (local installation):

    https://winterstreetdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/blip-plugin-error.txt

(Maybe it’s too long, but wordpress won’t let me post it here)

Thanks for that. I see there are several issues, none of which are related to this plugin.

I see an error for blip-slideshow plugin (not this plugin).
I also see register_uninstall_hook (which this plugin does not use) and wp_register_script (which this plugin does not use).

So I’m going to look into the ‘plugin headers’ error that we both saw, but you’ll need to research those other errors elsewhere since they’re not caused by this plugin.

I hope you get some good use out of this plugin after getting it activated and getting your site’s other issues worked out.

    Thanks!

I’m sorry I got these plugins mixed up. Sorry to waste your time.

No problem. I don’t mind helping. And thanks for helping me discover the install issue. As I said, I’ll look into it further.

Version 1.2 resolved the “initial install” issue.

Thanks to you for alerting me to this issue, and thanks to Otto for explaining the resolution! 🙂

I hope you get some great use out of it and possibly leave it a great review.
