it doesnt show as galleries

    I have just installed NextGen gallery and I have uploaded 1300+ with FTP and imported them into the gallery. I think I have 29 Galleries/Albums, but when I go the the page it all shows just as pictures and are not divided into galleries/albums. Why is that?

    I have set as Basic Compact Album inside the settings and choosen Basic Thumbnails.

    Any clue on how to fix this?

    @tbrueland – Can you go into more details on how you uploaded and imported the 1300+ images?

    Did you upload each “gallery” into its own folder and then import that folder (or scan that folder for new images)?

    Sure can Cais,

    I had my albums in folders on my PC, and I uploaded each folder as they were to the UPLOADS folder with ftp. From there I imported the pics from that folders with the integrated import/export.

    I got them as Galleries in the wordpress plugin, and I made new Albums with the same names…and put the Galleries into the Albums.

    A little difficult to explain, but that is pretty much how I did.

    @tbrueland – Hmm … first thing to try, change you Permalinks from the “Default” to something like “Post name” or “Month and name” (it’s just better all around).

    Next, what are you using to insert the display into your page? Did you use a shortcode? If not, what settings are you using for the IGW (“green button”) to insert the albums?
