    Dear heateor support,

I have identified an issue with the Socializer plugin which is causing a major headache. When a user logins using their social network account (in our case we’ve enabled FB and Google), it successfully logs them in and wordpress allocates the ‘subscriber’ role by default which is fine.

When changing the user’s role to something other than ‘subscriber’, the user can no longer login using thee socializer option unless their role is changed back to subscriber.

Our site is currently in dev so I can’t unfortunately provide you with any access.

Many thanks and I look forward to your reply.

    Hi there,

Seems some other plugin is checking the role of user at the time they login and then restricting access to the website. Would you try keeping only Super Socializer active just to confirm the same?

All plugins disabled and still the same problem…

FYI, to add some additional context, when social login is attempted after role change, the popup window that performs the login/auth, redirects to the website using URL structure https://<websiteurl>/#_=_ (essentially loading the home page of the site within the popup window however without any authentication taking place). Changing user to Subscriber auth’s user as expected from within the popup window and automatically closes it after logging them in.

Do you run a check using some custom code in functions.php file when users login to the website? Because there is some check somewhere in the code which is causing this scenario. If you let me know what exactly that code is, would be able to help you out.
