Issue with emptying a profile field

Hi!

I recently launched a new website with quite a big profile form (it’s for an organization where users can choose their roles at different times through the years).

The issue I’m having is that when a user is deleting all info from a field (removing text to make it blank), after clicking ‘Update profile’, the content is still there. The problem exists for both dropdown lists and textboxes, and there is no difference if I’m using an admin account. The fields update correctly if there is content, it’s just the blanked fields that won’t update.

The fields are not required and have no defualt values.

Is this a bug or might there be some setting I’m missing?
