Hi, I hope you are well.
Recently WordPress has been updated to the version 7.0 and this is a medium disaster for me because now I have issues with the Gutenberg editor that is the main system for edit and create WordPress content.

Your Dark Mode plugin seems also having issue on the editor as there is not a good support for it.
I also find that if I disable the Gutenberg editor and I will need to do this and stop to using Gutemberg editor your Dark mode plugin never work on the editor page.

    So currently WP Dark Mode:
    – is not working correctly with the new WordPress 7.0 and the new Gutenberg editor
    – is not working completely if the Gutenberg editor is turned off and I will never use anymore the Gutenberg editor because has deprecated some code and now create a lot of errors and issues on my website. With the new Gutenberg editor I cannot edit anymore a lot of post and content I have.

Please improve the Dark mode support for the Gutenberg editor and please add a way to have your dark mode active also if Gutenberg is not used.

I created a video for you that can explain better.
I hope you can come with a fix.

Video here, available for the next 15 days

    Hi,

Thank you for testing v5.3.6 and for your feedback.

For the Classic Editor issue, please make sure the Classic Editor Dark Mode feature is enabled in the plugin settings. After enabling it and refreshing the editor, you should see a dark mode toggle within the Classic Editor. Once the toggle is enabled, dark mode should work correctly.

We’ve also recorded a short video demonstrating how to enable this feature and how it works. Please take a look: Watch Video

Regarding the Advanced Editor plugin, our team is currently working on improving compatibility. We’ll keep you updated as soon as we have any progress to share.

Thank you for your understanding and patience!

Thank you, currently the biggest issue is with the Advanced Editor plugin.
Anyway I dont like much that the classic editor input area will stay white. If you imagine a person who work on night white is eyes stressing.

    Thank you!

Thank you, much better now! This is a great news thank you!
Unfortunately I should have something that create an issue with the input editor area that stay white. I don’t know if you can help me in some way or maybe I need test this more and discover if can be a plugin that give this issue.

The editor input area stay white even if I activated the editor dark mode, it show a small black area not full area.

I understand this may be a problem on my install.

We tested the issue using the latest version of WP Dark Mode (v5.3.7) along with the settings you mentioned, including the “Replace Block Editor with Classic Editor” option. During our testing, the Classic Editor editor area displayed correctly in dark mode, and enabling Admin Dark Mode successfully applied dark styling across the admin area.

To help clarify our findings, we’ve attached a short video showing the issue testing process and how the feature is working. Please take a look and let us know if your experience differs.

The issue may be related to a local factor such as browser caching, server-side caching, or a plugin conflict.

Could you please try the following?

    • Remove the currently installed WP Dark Mode plugin.
    • Install the latest version (v5.3.7).
    • Clear your browser cache and any server-side/cache plugin caches.
    • Test the issue again.

Please let us know the results after retesting.

Unfortunately I still have the issue. I even tried to disable all plugin except Advanced editor and dark mode. In any case without a way to reproduce there is no bug you can’t help me. I’m unable to reproduce in playground of WordPress. If I will find something I will share you, until that maybe there is no issue 🙂

The issue is caused from a setting in Hestia Theme. If you go on customize, Appearance Settings, Typography then check the option Local fonts hosting and saving you have issue on the editor with the dark mode. Could this be fixed by you? Seems this settings create issue to the WP Dark Mode.

You can reproduce the issue using a temp WordPress as showed in the following video:

    Video link

Could you see why this happen? You can reproduce in the free temp service. I will try also to report to the Hestia theme and I hope in a fix 😊 from Dark mode or Hestia team. For now seems to be a Dark Mode issue with Hestia more then Hestia issue but I dont know what the cause is, I know just how to reproduce now.
