Issue Removing Old Tables After ULike Database Migration

    Hello,

    I hope you are doing well.

    After upgrading the ULike plugin, I saw the message confirming that the tables were migrated successfully. However, when I try to remove the old tables, I receive the following error:

    “Could not remove old tables. Please try again or use WP-CLI.”

    Could this issue be related to the database table prefix being changed from the default wp_ prefix?

    Do you have a recommended SQL command that I can run to safely remove the old tables manually?

    Thanks for reporting this.

    Your migration completed successfully and Pulse storage is already active. Your like data was not affected.

    The error only occurred during the optional cleanup step. Before removing the old tables, the plugin runs an extra safety check. On some sites that check can fail or time out, even when migration itself succeeded, so the plugin correctly refused to delete the old tables.

    We are refining that cleanup check in an update expected within the next few days, while keeping the necessary safety protections in place. Waiting for the update is fine. The old tables can remain until then.

    If you prefer to remove them now, back up your database first, then use either WP-CLI:

    wp ulike pulse drop-legacy

    Or run the following SQL in your database tool. Replace wp_ with your real table prefix from wp-config.php if needed:

    DROP TABLE IF EXISTS wp_ulike;
    DROP TABLE IF EXISTS wp_ulike_comments;
    DROP TABLE IF EXISTS wp_ulike_activities;
    DROP TABLE IF EXISTS wp_ulike_forums;

    Do not drop ulike_meta or the Pulse table.
