    I’m looking for automated email software for a new website. Below I’ve listed my ideal newsletter experience for a user of this website. Can this plugin, including paid addons if needed, create this experience? If not, how close could it get?

    1. A user signs up to a combination of categories within three post types: Blog Posts, Events, and Job Posts. The latter two will likely use the Event Calendar and WP Job Posts plugins.
    2. The user receives a single automated email every two weeks.
    3. That newsletter shows the latest blog posts, events, and job posts from the categories that the user has subscribed to
    4. If a post type has no subscriptions, such as job posts, then that entire section will not appear in the newsletter at all.

    Hi @spencermooreweb,

    Thanks for considering MailPoet for your new website!

    MailPoet allows you to create separate lists for each category and send post notification emails filtered by specific categories to each list. That part works well.

    However, it’s not possible to automatically combine posts per individual subscriber based on which lists they’re subscribed to. In other words, MailPoet can’t generate a single personalized email that includes posts from multiple categories depending on each subscriber’s selections.

    To achieve that kind of setup, you would either:

    • Need a separate list for every possible combination of categories (which sounds too time consuming), or
    • Let users subscribe to each category individually and receive separate notification emails for each category they choose.

    So while category-based notifications are supported, fully personalized “combined” newsletters per subscriber aren’t currently possible without a lot of manual list management.
