Is it safe to paste the css code directly into the theme

Hi everyone,

I am trying to make some changes on my clean retina theme to reflect my needs and to do that, I want to follow some advices from the forum as to directly paste the css code into the custom css style sheet on the theme under Appearance—-Theme-Options—-Design-Options—-Custom CSS. For instance, I want the logo image shown on the left side instead of right as it is the case right now. My question is, would it be safe to just paste the correct css code to do the trick and without me loosing my changes when the theme is updated? I am not using a child theme, so…

Could anyone please clarify this for me?
