Plugin author here – yes, it’s being maintained, and I read this forum.

MinuteRead was approved about three months ago, so it’s still very new. The empty support forum is mostly a function of a small user base rather than an abandoned plugin: 1.0.0 does one narrow job (reading time injected through the_content, plus a [minuteread_time] shortcode), and so far nobody has hit anything worth reporting.

That said, your question is fair, and the version number is the honest answer to it – I’m working on the next release now. Custom post type support is the main item, since that’s the one gap I already flagged in the FAQ, along with a refreshed “Tested up to” for the current WordPress release.

If you try it and anything breaks or behaves oddly, post here and I’ll respond.
Happy to answer anything specific about how it works before you install it too.
