• Hi,

I’m having trouble when viewing my site on iPad. The site displays the desktop version and not the tablet version. This doesn’t happen on mobile. If I scale a browser window down to 768px, it displays perfectly, but on iPad it shows the desktop layout.

    Any help appreciated!

The theme will conform to any screen size, it doesn’t specifically have a “tablet version,” it will just adapt so it fits.

As with most sites viewed on an iPad, the standard view usually suffices.

Are you seeing any specific problems, like content going off the edge requiring a horizontal scroll?

Essentially, the layout doesn’t optimise the available screen space. The content looks small and centered, unlike on mobile where it fills the screen. If anything I’d rather see the mobile view on tablet rather than the desktop view.

The theme fluidly adapts to the screen size viewing it, so it’s not possible to force a “mobile” view, since that technically doesn’t exist.

Twenty Nineteen in general maintains a design that embraces white space and doesn’t fill the full width. You can change that with the steps at https://wordpress.org/support/topic/full-text-width-on-the-page/#post-10983327
