IP LOCKED
-
I am getting my own IP locked while login. So there should be option to unban the IP from Admin email or something. I have to wait 60 min every time Shield plugin is triggered. Also, why my own IP is getting triggered?

UPDATE> I deleted cache folders and also disabled Shield Plugin. Now I can log-in!!!
This is super strange? A cache should not make trouble for security plugin?
I am using Autoptimize, WP Fastest CacheYes, page caching causes a lot of trouble for many things:
https://www.icontrolwp.com/blog/page-caching-wordpress/
If you get weird inconsistent behaviour like a plugin running on a site while the code isn’t even there? Caching.
Not yet. It can happen? Showing plugin which I have not installed?
I’m not sure how you mean.
Page caching simply returns data/pages from “memory”, regardless of what plugins you have installed, or removed.
So if your caching plugin caches a Shield block page, then that’s all you will see until you clear/disable the cache. Even if you remove the plugin.
Have a look at that article, it explains it further.
Ok. I understood. So my cache plugin was showing that CACHED Shield Warning and that was the problem. Right?
Yep! Some caching plugins don’t allow other plugins to clear the cache or prevent certain pages from caching.
We set the standard WordPress directive to NOT cache that page, ever. But some caching plugins ignore it.
Which caching plugin are you using?
Autoptimize
WP Fastest Cache
fast velocity minifyI am having the same issue as akiraanastasia.
This just started a couple of days ago and now I am blocked from my site.
We have a couple of users accounts for different people. These are people from different parts of the world. ALL of us are getting the same message even we have different accounts to log into our website and are in very different IPs.
Something is not right inside of Shield. Maybe in the last update, a bug crept into the code. I have never had an issue like this with Shield and now it is hitting all our accounts.
Only thing that worked for me was to log into cpanel > file manager and delete the entire plugin…
After that, I was able to get into the website… I then added a new plugin (Shield latest version) and was locked out again instantly.
So for now, we are NOT running Sheild at all because even you are logged out and got to the Home Page of the site, all you get is the big Shield warning and are locked out from even viewing the site.
- are you using page caching? If so have you tried disabling that?
- Are you hosting with SiteGround? Regardless, it’s worth reviewing this setting.
- Have you tried forceoff to get back in and remove your IP address from the list?
- Once you’re “back in” to your site, have a look at your Audit Trail to see why you were blocked.
No caching plugins used.
Not on siteground
No I have not tried forceoff…. Why would I spend so much time for all our team members to access our own website. We are from all over the world and every one of us is locked out.It doesn’t take long to use ‘forceoff’ and then fix the settings. If everyone is locked out it’s a visitor ip source problem.
As to why would you do it, I’m not sure I can answer that. It’s entirely up to you on whether or not you want to continue using the plugin. I’m not here to convince you as to why, just point you towards the solution.
Best of luck.
