Germany considers IP addresses personal information, so logging it comes with very strict legal constraints now, apparently. It would be nice if there were a way to not log IPs of visitors, but to discard the information after checking an IP’s country of origin. After all, I still want to keep all those Chinese and Ukrainian spam and hacking bots out – it’s really sad enough that this is necessary at all.

Is an IP address on itself considered personal information or together with other personal info?

The next version of this plugin will have an option to stop logging the IP addresses.
