When set up and configure Invisible reCAPTCHA –
and enable it in the form.

I get the error recaptcha not complete.

But when I set up and configure regular recaptcha it works without any issues.

  • Hi rleon,

If you’re only seeing this issue when using the invisible option, this might have to do with the keys you’re using. Because of the way that Google handles these reCAPTCHAs, they require that you set up new keys if you’d like to switch reCAPTCHA types.

So for example, if you first set up keys using the standard, checkbox-style reCAPTCHA, you’d have to create a whole new set of keys to be able to use the invisible option instead.

You can find links to set up invisible reCAPTCHA keys in our setup tutorial.

I hope this helps! If you give this a try, could you please let me know how it goes?

    Thanks! 🙂

@jquigam, I’m facing the issue with Invisible reCAPTCHA where it says “Form has not been submitted, please see the errors below”… “reCAPTCHA is required.” In an earlier reply you suggested switching to WordPress ZeroSpam however that plugin’s page says “This plugin hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.”

We’re running WPForms Lite, Version 1.4.7.2 The page in question is https://www.swamisriatmananda.com/contact/

In reviewing the site’s other plugins, the only one that apparently might be simultaneously running reCAPTCHA is Email Subscribers & Newsletters, but I’m not finding any mention of it in the documentation. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Update, Email Subscribers & Newsletters plugin is not running captcha.

    Hi vishnudash,

It looks like you’ve already turned off reCAPTCHA for the form URL you shared, and I was able to submit the form there successfully.

In most cases an issue like this can be fixed pretty quickly by using our new no-conflict option. Essentially, the most common reason for seeing this issue is that more than one piece of the site is trying to load reCAPTCHA’s code (for example, two plugins, or sometimes a plugin and a theme). Unfortunately reCAPTCHA isn’t able to deal with their code being used loaded more than once, so while it will look fine the functionality will be broken — resulting in an error when you submit the form.

The no-conflict option should only be used if you know reCAPTCHA isn’t being used by any other plugin on the form page. As long as that’s all set, you can enable this by going to WPForms > Settings > reCAPTCHA.

At the bottom of this page, you’ll see a checkbox labeled No-Conflict Mode (shown in this screenshot). This will aggressively remove any other instances of reCAPTCHA code on the page so that your form’s reCAPTCHA can work properly.

I hope this helps! Could you please let me know if you have questions — or if you give this a try, could you let me know how it goes?

    Thanks! 🙂

Thanks Jess. Yesterday we switched to the honeypot option and I’m thinking we’ll run that unless it becomes an issue, in which case we’ll switch to no-conflict mode on reCAPTCHA. Your helpful reply is most appreciated.
