Interesting Plugin, a few questions first.

    This is very interesting as I see it combines a lot of plugins together.

    1) I have the Kleo Theme and I know for a fact that the Kleo theme has it’s on conditional login menus meaning that works the same as Nav Menu Roles. Would this have a conflict issue? I can always try it out and tell you.

    2) I noticed that you said in the forums, that you will be directly competing with Buddypress and will not support or integrate this. In this case, I read the roadmap but just wanted to know more about what you will be planning in the future to have this as the alternative plugin to Buddypress.

    3) Do you have a Media Uploads area for the user to upload images/videos/audio and have some sort of album or portfolio?

    4) I currently have Buddypress Installed but would you recommend me to redo the whole website installation from scratch so it is a fresh install to make sure there are no traces of Buddpress to prevent problems or conflicts from coming up?

    Hi!

    1) That won’t be a problem because UM nav menus can be turned on and off giving you the flexibility to turn it off in case a conflict happens.

    2) We plan to add Messaging, Social walls, photo galleries, and activity as extensions to UM which we believe will put us as a competitor to BuddyPress. Our goal is to offer these features in a more robust and modern looking way.

    3) We do not have that feature yet.

    4) We would not recommend you to do that. UM will work fine if you switch from Buddypress to UM. There is also a tool that migrates user avatars from Buddypress. So if you just start using UM and deactivate BuddyPress you will not have conflicts, but some of the features that BuddyPress offers are not available yet so you’ll have to decide for yourself if you can make that choice or not. We promise a long term stability and product updates however we can’t claim that offer everything buddypress offers at this current moment. e.g.Messaging, Galleries, Walls, etc.

    Hi UM,

    Thanks for that, might keep BP for now until the UM plugin has progressed a bit further, but thinking about helping out with the development since I normally like a challenge and try out new plugins then use all the functions together.

    Would you be looking for supporters/helpers/testers?

    Sure, we’d always be looking for supporters and testers. We’ve made a community forum and our main goal is to make people help each other so we can have a reduced support time and develop great features.
