Insufficient Permissions
-
I recently installed MarketPress Lite version 2.9.5.6 on our website which is running the WP-Ellie theme on WordPress 4.3.1.
When I attempted to change the settings of the plugin, I received the following error message:You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.
I am an Administrator of the website and have never experienced this problem before with any other plugin. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Hey there canu,
How are you doing today?
This can be a problem of cookie or cache. Are you using any caching plugin? Try clearing cache and check again.
Also is this multisite? If yes, are you super admin? Is plugin network activated?
Is this happening on any specific settings page or on all of them?
Please advise,
BojanHi Bojan,
I’m fine thanks, apologies for the delay.
I’m using WP Super Cache and I deleted the cache but unfortunately, I still see the same error message.
This plugin is only on one website.
This is on the settings link directly from the plugin on the Plugins page.
Regards,
canuHey again Canu,
Sorry to hear that didn’t help 🙁
Do you have any plugins that are changing capabilities such as User Role Editor or any security plugins that could affect this?
Would you mind testing for conflicts to see if any of other plugins that you have could possibly cause this? To do that please try using default WordPress theme like Twenty Fifteen and deactivating all other plugins as displayed in the following flowchart to know which theme/plugin is conflicting if any.

BojanHey Bojan,
First of all, thank you for all of your suggestions, they’re much appreciated.
Unfortunately, due to time constraints and the fact that the website is currently live, I won’t be able to follow all of the steps set out in your flowchart.
Thanks again for your time and we’re sorry that it didn’t work out.
Best regards,
CanuHey Canu,
Sorry to hear that 🙁
If there was another way of doing this I’d be happy to suggest it, this is just a standard troubleshooting process that would help us to figure out what exactly is casing it.
In case you decide to give it another try or test on a staging site please let me know.
Have a nice day!
Cheers,
Bojan
