Are you sure you uploaded the files to the correct folder on your domain( eg. public_html)?
look if your host is a free one, there should be a folder where you can upload wordpress. you cant upload it on the root folder, it doesnt work like that because its your hostin provider policy so there should pe a folder specially for your script website or wordpress.in my case i had a free hosting and there was a folder “htdocs” where i can upload only there, and run from there the install.php
Before I uploaded all the files onto my host, I added 8 or 9 plugins and also chose a header which had my own picture on it.
However, when I access the site, it’s not what I have uploaded.
The site is an addon domain and I created the file “public_html/toy-review-blogspot”
I used Ipswich FTP and there were 28 files uploded which was sent me in a zip file.
I deleted the file “index.html” but not until I had uploaderd it to the public_html/toy-review-blogspot folder.
Should I have deleted it before uploading?
Please help me because I am going nuts over this project, I have been trying to get it running for almost two weeks now and I am almost ready to quit.

WordPress has far more than 28 files. There should also have been sub-folders. You need to upload all of the WordPress files & folders (preserving the folder structure) before you can install it.
Hi Esmi,
There were 28 files which included three folders…WP-Admin
WP-Content
WP-Includes
and a Readme Document.
Before I submitted the details to WordPress I added Plugins and Links and About us. Then I received the email from wordpress with the Zip file attached saying to upload all the files [after extracting] to my hosting Co, [Just Host]. I added the site to my existing site as an addon to the root directory. I created a file..public_html/toy-review-blogspot, uploaded all the files via FTP and then deleted the Index.html file.
Two days later I get an email saying my site is up and running but when I accessed the site, it was just the standard WP site with the usual theme page and no plugins or widgets.
Something is not right, but I dont know what>
Any help would be appreciated…Dai

You need to login to your WordPress install and activate your chosen theme & plugins.
