Hi there! Does anyone know how to install WordPress on PHP My Admin Version: 3.3.7 ?

I tried to follow the documentation on WordPress.org, however this is geared towards an earlier version of PHP My Admin.

    See: http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress#Using_phpMyAdmin

In step 2, it tells me to click on “priveleges” to add a new user, however, this tab is not available in PHP My Admin Version: 3.3.7…

Also, when editing wp-config.php, what should I fill in under:
    DB_HOST ?

What more should I fill in on this wp-config.php?

Thanks a lot for your help! I’m an absolute WP newbie!!

    Cheers

Do you have cpanel or something similar to manage your site from the backend?

Thanks, well, I access my php my admin directly through the website of my hosting company. I don’t have/ use Cpanel.

yeah, I’m not seeing where phpMyAdmin moved the create the user ID either. Most hosts have an alternate way of doing that, which is why I asked about cPanel.

Don’t worry about the security keys or wp-config.php yet 🙂 Once you have your database, the rest is pretty much a ‘fill in the form and go’ setup.

Thanks Ipstenu, well I have my database but have no clue how to continue, since the instructions here are not for my version of php Myadmin….

Do you have any ideas? Thanks!

Yeah, I’d ask my host “How do I make a SQL account?”

Usually they have some directions on their site help docs, though.
