Installing WordPress on Add On Domain
-
This is probably obvious to everyone else but…
I was trying to install WordPress into an addon domain on my hosting account. Something I had done many times before. But I had recently installed WordPress into the root domain and installed the iThemes Security plugin in this WP install. iThemes Security made modifications to the htaccess file that blocked me from being able to install to the new Add On Domain.
I’m assuming this is by design and iThemes Security is doing it’s job but hopefully it will save someone else some time fumbling about. Just rename the htaccess file in the root to something else, do the install, then rename back to htaccess.
