installing second WP instance in subdirectory

    I have a site running fine on 2.8.4 (http://www.mackhillfarm.com) I’m tying to add another WP instance in a subdirectory (/evals/). Readme.HTML works fine, but any PHP page is throwing an error 500 which I have to look at headers to see. I’ve done this before and it just worked.

    not enough memory and bad .htaccess seem to be the popular suggestions, but wouldn’t both break the main instance too?
