When I try to install a plug-in It takes me to a page called “Connection information”

    It gives me

    Hostname: (gives an IP address)
Username: (the user name we use for our hosting)
    Password: (wants this)

Is it at all related to the hosting company?? How do I find out the password?

I hope you don’t have windows hosting. Make sure you have PHP 5 running too.

This is getting crazy. So I have the FireFTP up and running and it’s connected to my webspace, but when I try to transfer the files it says it can’t. Either a) there is no file or b) Can not STOR [Error 550]

How can I tell I have PHP 5?

I gotta stop for today until Tomorrow. Thanks for your help today, if your still here to help tomorrow, I will be deeply greatful.

For your FTP problems, try live support with your web host. If you have your web site’s plugins directory in the right most pane and the folder you are trying to upload in the second pane from the left, you should be able to highlight the folder and click the right arrow in the middle.

For seeing if you have PHP 5 or not, it should be in your control panel somewherre. If they use C-Panel for instance, it will be in the left sidebar.

The only time I’ve seen problems like this before is when people had windows hosting instead of Linux hosting. Make sure you have Linux hosting. If not, have your hosting company switch you.

okay I got the plug-in loaded onto the hosting profile. Now How do I activate it on Word Press?

In your admin panel, there is a link under Plugins labled “Installed”. it will be there. Just click activate and you are done.

To use the plugin to fix formatting problems in your pages or posts, look under the text box for Custom Fields. In the enter new field, type sponge. Now, the word sponge will appear in the drop down menu under add new custom field. For the value, type “1”. You are done!
