Hi I have just installed the plugin and I’m guessing since the website is in english, I need to install the english language first.

When I do that, I get a notice above: “The language was created, but the WordPress language file was not downloaded. Please install it manually.”

I am not able to find instructions on how to do this in the documentation and I didn’t find a support thread on this either.

I also didn’t see the message “There are posts, pages, categories or tags without language set. Do you want to set them all to default language” pop either.

And in the documentation it references this website to download the language settings. Is this what I’m supposed to do manually? If yes, how do I actually access this folder, through ftp somehow?

The website i’m installing on is this:
    http://hushmagazine.ca/

Thanks for the help. I am just starting with it all so I hope I gave enough info about the problem.

    Hi Regina,
I don’t quite remember if and how I solved this issue. Not sure why it is labeled as resolved.
Sorry I couldn’t be of more help

    Hi,

I figured it out somehow. If anybody stumbles over the same rock, this is what I did:

    1. I went to http://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp/dev and downloaded .mo and .po files. The page is not very intuitive, so what you need to do is find your language and click on it. You will be taken to another page. On this page you scroll all the way down and in the dropdown you select the .mo file and then hit export. This will download the mo file for you, then you select the .po and hit export again.

    2. Go to your download folder and rename the files acording to the ISO codes. This can be a nut too, but the format is fr_FR for french, nb_NO for norwegian, nl_BE for flemish belgian etc etc. So the files are called nl_BE.po and nl_BE.mo

    3. These files you need to put in the \wp-content\languages\ folder on you wp installation.

Now you should be able to create posts in english and the other language you just installed.

    cheers,
