    Hi!
I tried to install the WP-Edition of Ninjafirewall on a few different WordPress Installations I am running. Installation worked but I always get the following issue:

NinjaFirewall fatal error: Cannot connect to WordPress database. Review your installation, your site is not protected.

I checked it with the debug script from another Thread. The Result was:

    DB_NAME: OK

    DB_USER: OK

    DB_PASSWORD: OK

    DB_HOST: OK

    table_prefix: OK

Do you have any Idea how to fix this? Tried it on a fresh installation of WordPress, running the twentysixteen theme. Thank you very much!

    Hi,

Can you test it using the latest DB script available here: http://nintechnet.com/share/wp-db.txt

    1. Rename this file to “wp-db.php”.
    2. Upload it into your WordPress root folder.
    3. Go to http://YOUR WEBSITE/wp-db.php
    4. Delete it afterwards.

Hi! Thank you for your reply.
It seems that everything is alright with that?

    Version: 1.2
    Found wp-config.php.
    Opening it for reading.
    Looking for DB_NAME, DB_USER, DB_PASSWORD, DB_HOST and $table_prefix:
    DB_NAME: found ‘db542164873’
    DB_USER: found ‘dbo542164873’
DB_PASSWORD: found (click here to view password)
    DB_HOST: found ‘db542164873.db.1and1.com’
    table_prefix: found ‘jhq_’
Attempting to connect to the DB: OK
Attempting to read NinjaFirewall’s options (nfw_options) from the DB: OK
    Calling fetch_object: OK
    Exiting.

(I changed the names of db and prefix here)

    It looks all good.
Maybe you should uninstall the firewall, download a fresh copy and re-install it?

    I already tried that.
I set up a fresh Install of wordpress connected it to a fresh database and downloaded and installed the newest version of ninjafirewall (wp-edition). The installation was running well except of the firewall-test at the end of the installation process. That is where the Issue was reported first. Also I am running the twentysixteen theme (newest version), so i think this would not be a theme conflict. I have the same issue on all installations (at least 5) and with other themes too. Might this be an issue of 1and1?

Themes shouldn’t be an issue because NinjaFirewall loads before WordPress, its plugins and themes.
Is your hosting plan specific to WordPress, i.e., it may have some specific restrictions or settings?
