    Hi,
I downloaded a Duplicator archive .zip and installer.php from an online site. I wish to install it on my local Mac for testing, running LocalWP.

    • I downloaded each file from the plugin’s download page.
    • Dragged the files in Finder to the appropriate folder – /Users/robert/Local Sites/mysitename/app/public – that’s the same folder that contains wo-content and other WP files.
    • Went to http://myitename.local:10008/installer.php
    • Browser goes to https://mysitename.local:10008/dup-installer/main.installer.php (confirmed this folder is created).
    • Browser shows the error: “This site can’t provide a secure connection — mysitename.local sent an invalid response. ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR.”

    Contents of the install log…

I think there had been a warning about secure connection, but this is not appearing now.

    Any ideas, please?

I wondered whether it’s to do with SSL.

Local WP (which is like MAMP) has a Trust setting, which is enabled.

When I go to http mysitename.local/installer.php (don’t know why the browser gave me the full URL with port number before), I get a security warning but an option to continue if I know the risks.

When I carry on, MacOS asks for my password, then https://mysitename.local/dup-installer/main.installer.php loads, but…

    DUPLICATOR: SECURITY CHECK

    An invalid request was made.
    Message: Invalid token validation

In order to protect this request from unauthorized access please restart this install process by browsing to the installer.php file or hashed file.

When I do go to https://mysitename.local/installer.php again, the Install process actually begins, with option to continue.

Then I go through the database questions and do the overwrite.

Basically, I got it to work.

    Hey @parakeet,

Thanks for the update! Some of these issues do look like they are related to how SSL is set up on your host.
