Can someone from WP contact me about how to either uninstall 4.2.2 and go back to what worked before or explain how to get my site back up and running so I can work on it using the new version of WP? I’ve tried the documentation, handbook and support tips from this forum to no avail. I’m not tech savy so not sure what to do next. Thanks http://www.barkbarknyc.com

Have you tried the manual update procedure?

Yes. But it didn’t work; however I’m not sure I’m following the directions correctly and I am concerned I will erase years worth of blogs and photos if I misinterpret the directions. I am not a technical person so even your least technical explanations are confusing. Is there anyone who can talk me through this by live online or by me giving over control of the web site or by skype? I am at my wits end and my blog http://www.barkbarknyc.com is still down.

    Thank you

    Celia

    Dear WP volunteer, Martin,

Any thoughts on what I should do next for http://www.barkbarknyc.com?

    Thanks,

    Celia

Login to your hosting account (I assume you have cpanel or smth. similiar) – go to installations – find your site and push button – reinstall/upgrade or any other button there that suits the purpose. Hope it helps.

    Celia, You are welcome,

I would be skeptical to attempt any type of “one-button” fix via the host control panel. We don’t yet know who is your host providor nor what are their capabilities.

Warning: require(/home/content/80/12022780/html/wp-includes/session.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/80/12022780/html/wp-settings.php on line 122

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home/content/80/12022780/html/wp-includes/session.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/php5_3/lib/php’) in /home/content/80/12022780/html/wp-settings.php on line 122

It means some important files are missing.

Do you have a ftp client that can connect to the host?

Do you have a host control panel with a file manager?
