• I installed a new theme onto a client’s site, but realized that when I looked for the theme on the FTP the folder is not there.

I also noticed that the WP TwentyTwelve theme folder is missing also.

I never had this problem before. I wouldn’t have even checked the FTP, but when I started to make changes to the theme it just wasn’t doing anything.

I did try looking on the online FTP, but same problem.

Then, I tried to delete the theme and install is via FTP. I didn’t see the theme in the WP-Dashboard.

  • Hi kristiegeorge,

Double check the directory (folder) you are looking in on the server. Make sure you are looking in wp-content/themes. Is the site you are working on the main domain or an Addon domain? Main domain document root is usually public_html but Addon domains will usually be something like public_html/addondomain.com.

A link to the site you are working on could be helpful as well.

Yes, I am looking at the right folder. There are other themes there. Just not those two.

I feel so stupid! I went straight to the FTP accounts in the hosting. Didn’t think to look at the Domains. It does say exactly where the files are!
