installation instructions regarding installing in a subfolder

    I’m considering taking WP for a spin for web site creation, but the instructions and pre-install reading required for the “famous 5 minute install” has got my head spinning. Maybe a 5 minute install, but 500 links to get there!!!

    Anyhow, I didn’t see anything explicit about installing into a subfolder, but I see many have done it.

    I have a website already in my root, so if I make a subfolder WP website, is it fully functional as http://www.myroot.com/mywpsandbox ? I can imagine that a WP favicon would not work in that structure. Anything else?

    But mostly I am interested in the installation part for now.
