    Hi there,

I have been able to create the installer.php file and the package of my website. So far so good but now I am stuck. 😉

I watched your video a couple of times but I believe I am missing a step. I guess I do not know how to get to the http://www.mydomain.com/installer.php

Do I have to install WP on my new domain beforehand? And more important, how can I use the .php file so that I can try to upload? I am using DirectAdmin and it would help me greatly if I could find out how to use the installer.php

I hope to hear from you soon.

Kind regards and great thanks for your help.

    Back again!!!

I manged to get the installer.php to show but now I get shown a ‘system requirements fail’. see underneath:

    Root DirectoryFail
    Path: /home/bartvkq99/domains/glaszetterleiden.nl/public_html
    [Fail] Is Writable
[Fail] Contains only one Zip file.
Result = No package file found

I uploaded the website files through Filezilla and was hoping that it would work.

The files are there but I dont understand the message, ‘contains only one zip file’. I did not create a zipfile, just a normal map with the files in it.

    Any help would be lovely!!

    Thanks!

    Bart

    Hi Bart,

You don’t have to have WP you just need to make sure the server has PHP installed and working. Check out the Quick Start Guide

    Cheers!

This means this file is not writable by the plugin:
    /home/bartvkq99/domains/glaszetterleiden.nl/public_html
You will need to check with your hosting provider on how to make public_html writable to PHP

Also “No Package file found” means you have to also copy over the package.zip file to the same directory you copied the installer.php file.

    Hope that helps!

    Hi,

Thank you for your quick response!!!!! I managed to fixx the first problem. ALMOST THERE!!! I am not gonna give up!

    Root DirectoryFail
    Path: /home/bartvkq99/domains/glaszetterleiden.nl/public_html
    [Pass] Is Writable
[Fail] Contains only one Zip file.
Result = No package file found

I already uploaded the files in the same directory as the installer.php file. I checked this in Directadmin and Filezilla, and the files are there.

Is it true that it does not work when there are other files than just the 2 I uploaded with the plugin? There is still another map with some old files of plugins. (the should not be there anyway but I don’t seem to have the rights to delete them) Anyway, could that be the problem? Or do you have any other suggestions?

    Kind regards,

    Bart

Or, just trying to think along, does it have to be a zip file? A compressed file, I believe it is in English?

At the moment it is a map with all the files in it. because I thought the system would not be able to uncompress (or extract?) the files out of a zip package.

I deleted the other files by the way and that did not fix the problem.

    Hi there,

I still did not manage to fixx the last issue. Is there anyone who can help me further?

I tried the zip file, deleted all the other files and this all did not work. Is there anything I might have missed?

    Hope to hear soon.

    Kind regards

    Bart

    Hey Bart,

The only files that should be in the directory your going to extract to are the installer.php and the package.zip file.

    You should broswer to:
    http://yoursite.com/yourwpdirectory/installer.php

From there the installer should walk you through the rest and exact the package.zip file for you…

Check out the User Guide it has some video tutorials at the bottom…
