    Hi,
I created a new website on my local server using WAMP.
Now I would like to move the new website using DUPLICATOR to my server (where the old website is still live)
Do I need to delete my old website on the server first or will DUPLICATOR over write and delete the old website anyway (do I need to de-activate and delete all the plugins on the old website before I come in with the new one?)
    Thanks in advance!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hey @wind756,

It’s best to clear out all the contents and place just the installer.php and archive.zip file into the directory where your live site is this way you don’t leave any legacy files around for when your new package is deployed.

    Hope that helps~

    Hi Cory,
    thanks for your quick reply!
Do you mean I just have to empty the folder public_html?
Or do I have to manually de-install all the plugins and wordpress bevore I do that?
    Regards

Typically if you only had one site in your public_html folder then that would be safe.
You may check out this link it has some step by steps https://snapcreek.com/duplicator/docs/quick-start

I deleted everything out of the public_html folder and installed.
    It went well.
Thank you very much for your advise!

    Excellent! Thanks for the udpate.
