Instagram Feed stops working repeatedly

    Launched a new site for my client and plugin worked perfectly for about a week. We touched nothing, made no changes, and the Instagram plugin stopped working.

    I reset the token and got a new shortcode and it started working again, without any problems. Two weeks later, it stopped working entirely again.

    Why do I keep losing my access token and why does my feed keep breaking?

    Hi @deantester,

    Since Facebook took over management of the Instagram API, their access tokens expire every 2-3 months. So, periodically, they will stop working. However, it should not go down week to week. The most likely culprit is Instagram’s new restrictions regarding voter misinformation. FB/IG modify their API daily, 99% of the time they make changes that do not affect our plugin, although occasionally it will. Sometimes we are notified of those changes and sometimes they are unknown bugs. At this time, we are not aware of any bugs that are causing the issue you are experiencing. We do often see temporary glitches that come from Instagram’s side, which IG/FB typically address within 24-48 hours.
