inserting backround pic as entire website?

    Hey everyone im very new to wordpress. I was able to find a template for what I wanted to do. However im attempting to make a 2nd one and cant seem find a suitable theme. I have a buddy who is a graphic designer and is willing to build website via jpg or whatever file format I want. Is there anyway to integrate a jpg into the backround and cover a entire page? But then once I do that I would lose the option to make clickable links right?

    Let me get this straight, so you want to build your whole website in one HUGE image?

    Well maybe im wording this wrong. I dont know how complicated it is to build a theme on your own but maybe thats the route I should take. I cant seem to find a theme that fits what im going for. Im basically asking is with the backround on a theme can you simply find the html code that contains the image file for it and change the URL to something else? Or does it not work that way?
