Sure, the Pro Lightbox thumbnails could be disabled from “Gallery -> Other Options -> Lightbox Effects -> Display carousel thumbnails: Never Display Thumbnails”

About the thumbs size, it will mostly depend on your own image’s size and on the settings you will use so – yes, that would be achievable. 🙂
