I already have a complete IndieWeb plugin collection on my website. Should I turn off some of them before installing ATmosphere? Especially Webmention?

  • Is there a reason you have to? This plugin appears to be a Bluesky integration. None of the Indieweb plugins do that. Webmentions can be used in cooperation with Bridgy to feed Bluesky into your site, but that isn’t a function of the plugins. Webmentions work independently.

    Hey @radekj 👋

as @dshanske already mentioned, there should be no interference with the ATmosphere and IndieWeb plugins, the only exception might be if you use brid.gy together with Bluesky, but you could simply disconnect the bridge then.

If there will be an issue anyways, simply report it here or in the Webmention plugin repository and we fix it asap! (I know the authors of the Webmention plugin quite well and they are very supportive ☺️).

Thanks for both swift replies. (What a fortunate coincidence that @pfefferle knows the creators of the Webmentions plugin.) Yes, I am using brid.gy. I will disconnect it then theb before installation.

I was, however, asking in advance. I would love to try ATmosphere, but I am running an old version of PHP. I have to ask my web host provider to upgrade it. Looking forward to trying the plugin.

Btw. you do not have to disconnect all bridgy connections, simply disconnect from Bluesky. Let me know if I can help!

@pfefferle doesn’t know the creator. He created the original version of the webmention plugin and several others when it was a single file affair. I am the most prolific contributor after him.

@pfefferle Thanks a million. I will try it, but I have to solve my problem with the old PHP first.

@dshanske I knew about @pfefferle, but not about you.

Thank you both, guys. You are doing amazing stuff.
