On the settings page, there is an Index Priority section.
“Drag to reorder. X to remove if it is not relevant for your site’s search.”

We are only indexing PDFs added in the Files Section below Index Priority. So I click the X in the Index Priority section under “Included in Index” for both Pages and Posts, and they move to the “Not Included in Index” side, leaving just Media. All OK. Then at the bottom of the section I click the “Save Changes” button. The page refreshes, and Pages and Posts are back in the “Included in Index” side. I’ve tried this several times, they always go back to the wrong side.

Any ideas? I’ve had to through and turn off the toggles for each page and post, which took a while with 118 pages and 52 posts. Hopefully that will do it.

    Thanks again.

Thank you for pointing this out. We’ll take a look and see why that isn’t saving as expected.

It sounds like you did everything right and, although tedious, toggling off the pages/posts will remove them from the index. The key is to click the “Remove Excluded Content” button at the bottom of the table to officially remove those items from the index.

I’ll follow up on this thread once we have a working solution for the Index Priority section.

Also, just curious, why do you only want to index PDF’s and not site content? Always trying to learn more about how people are using the plugin so we can make it better. Thanks!

    Thanks Troy!
The client had a document archive of meeting Agendas and Minutes on a third party platform, with an embed on the wp site for access that included a search function. We’re moving all the documents to the wp site, and they wanted to retain a document only search.

@justanothernerd this issue has been resolved in version 2.0.2 of the plugin. The issue was that we wrote those three as the default selections (Media, Pages, and Posts) in a way that the setting kept reverting back to the default after hitting Save.

And thanks for sharing! Always cool to learn how people make things their own. If there’s anything we can do to further improve the plugin, just let us know!
