• Hello, I developed a WordPress site online on my server in a subdomain of my blog, then tried to move it to a new server, new URL, for my friend.

I created a database, changed the wp_config.php file and uploaded all the files, but there seems to be a problem when I go to the site, it shows the index and WordPress is not working.

I added a line in the .htaccess file but it didn’t do much.

Any idea what I did wrong? Probably didn’t set up the database properly, or copied the files to the wrong folder I guess?

    Thanks,
    Christelle

  • Hi Christelle,

    Thank you for your question.

Have you installed WordPress using WordPress installation wizard?

Just make sure that you have copied WordPress files in the correct folder or not.

Can you just share me your site link so that i can troubleshoot it more.

    Kind Regards,

Sorry I forgot to post the link in the first place: http://therosariogroup.com

I did use the WordPress install wizard when I started working on the site, on my server, but then on the new server I just transfered all the files by ftp. If I can’t find a solution I might just start from scratch again?

    You need to review Moving_WordPress.

    Hi Christelle,

    Thanks or sharing the link.

I checked your site therosariogroup.com and it seems you have installed WordPress in html sub folder which you can access from the link therosariogroup.com/html . You should install it in root folder to make it accessible from the link therosariogroup.com

    Best Regards,
