Incorrect/Unclear “Email Verification” Setting Description
-
Hi there,
I’d like to request an improvement of your email verification setting descriptions.
Currently, in the plugin settings under Verification for the Request verify setting, the description is the below:
All: Require new customer to verify email address before checkout.
Suspect: Require the suspected customer to verify email address before checkout. The wording “Require new customers to verify […]” is misleading because it’s not actually new customers, i.e., customers who don’t have an account yet or haven’t placed any order yet, it’s any customer your plugin considers new, i.e., users that haven’t gone through your plugin’s email verification flow.
This has caused significant friction for one of my client’s websites who I was trying to move away from their previous email verification plugin to buy into your premium version. Because of the description in your plugin’s settings we didn’t perform a migration of which users were already email-verified by the previous plugin given your plugin’s setting/option description said only new customers would be asked to verify. Now we’ve had long-term customers, who have previously verified their email address, all go through another email verification flow.
I’m hoping this is a somewhat quick thing to address to avoid any other website admin running into the same issue.
