• Hi,

It looks like since some recent update MailPoet maps the WordPress Nickname field to its “First Name” field in emails. I’m wondering when the issue started since I couldn’t find anybody reporting it.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

I don’t fully understand your question. Can you kindly explain better with screenshots of your issue?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

    Have a great day!

Basically, a user/Subscriber “First Name” in the MailPoet record doesn’t match the “First Name” field in the WordPress record. See 2 screenshots below.

    Hi there @drawbox,

Thanks for getting back to us!

I added a new WordPress user on my test site but I see the correct First Name for it in MailPoet.

Can you please advise if you’re using any third-party registration form on your site that adds these WordPress users? Also, if you add a WordPress user from wp-admin > Users > Add New, do you see the same issue?

Looking forward to hearing back from you!

    Hi,

The issue is intermittent. For some users Mailpoet picks up the first name correctly and for others, it picks up the email as the first name. I couldn’t spot any difference between such users. We use ThemeMyLogin for the registration form.

    Thanks

Since we have had the MailPoet plugin for many years, probably the issue is somehow caused by that. I just tried reinstalling MailPoet on our staging environment using the option under “Advanced Settings” and this has resolved the problem. All users are now pulled from WP database with the correct first name. However, this obviously erases all the Lists and Subscription statuses of our users. Is it possible to do a reset like that and then restore the Lists and Subscription status, registration date for all users?

Would be great to export the list of subscribers with all their status but without First/Last Name, reinstall MailPoet, and then re-import all the subscribers so that their Name wouldn’t be changed but their Subscribed On date would be updated based on the original date. I tried to export all subscribers and import them but “Subscribed on” date shows the same today’s time for All.
