I had GoDaddy check that and it looks like our MX records weren’t set to Remote. A good catch, unfortunately our problem still isn’t fixed.
@sarahlevinger, you’re not using a remote mail server, you’re using GoDaddy’s own, or localhost, which is why you will not set your MX exchanger to remote mode.
The last I heard your problem was GoDaddy rejecting your email as Spam which has nothing to do with connectivity.
The person reporting the problem is saying that it’s not an authentication (password) issue. Where are you getting that information from?
@chemusic, she emailed me directly and we resolved it offline. That’s why the thread is marked resolved and why I noted above:
Resolved by using the correct password.
I appreciate your desire to help, but in this case you are only adding confusion.
Turns out you were both right! @jason Hendriks, GoDaddy had set our exchange to Remote during testing (not sure why), which was causing a problem, however I didn’t realize that GoDaddy had two different email accounts (@chemusic was right, they have one through CPanel and one through Builder).
We were apparently using the free builder email account, which I didn’t realize because I didn’t set our emails up. Switched the MX exchanger back to local, assigned our emails to the new CPanel email accounts and all is well. Thanks so much for all your help!
@chemusic, thanks for the tip re: CPanel vs Builder. That was helpful.
