One of our websites has been experiencing a repeated bug that goes through a cycle of, the bug appears: the main card fields are hidden but filling out the stripe card field doesn’t allow you to progress, The hidden card fields are reporting “your card number is incomplete.”. The cycle has been we’ve updated the WooCommerce & WooCommerce Stripe Gateway plugins and the issue has gone away, only to find that a little bit later on, the bug is back. We have ruled out conflict in the theme and plugins. Is this a known bug or are we potentially missing something?

    Hi @websiteindigotree!

Thank you for reaching out and for providing those details. I understand how frustrating it must be to have the issue reappear after it initially seems to be resolved by updating the plugins.

At the moment, I’m not aware of a known issue that exactly matches the behavior you’ve described. To help us investigate further, could you please share the following information?

    • A copy of your WooCommerce System Status Report.
    • Any JavaScript errors shown in your browser’s developer console when the issue occurs.
    • Any Stripe-related log entries from WooCommerce → Status → Logs, if available.

Please paste the System Status Report to either https://pastebin.com/ or https://gist.github.com/ and share the generated link with us.

Once we have this information, we’ll be able to investigate the issue further and determine what may be causing it.

    Hi @shahzeenfarooq

Thanks for coming back to me.

Here is the WooCommerce System Status Report: https://pastebin.com/iKsbkPT6

The error log for woocommerce-gateway-stripe was very large, I had to split it into 4 different pastebins.

These are from a day we were able to recreate the issue.

    01 https://pastebin.com/wC2zC8Gg

    02 https://pastebin.com/8V33D0sz

    03 https://pastebin.com/asmSUiCw

    04 https://pastebin.com/PJEhL7DY

We’re not able to reproduce the error at the moment. We’ve updated the plugin and it works again right now, but it stops working again soon after. So I can’t give you any console logs right now.

Please let me know if this helps.

    Hi @websiteindigotree!

Thank you for sharing the System Status Report and the Stripe logs.

I’ve reviewed the information you’ve provided. I also tested your site on my end, and currently everything appears to be working correctly. I wasn’t able to reproduce the issue at this time.

Based on the details available so far, I’m not seeing any obvious indication of what might be causing the problem. Since the issue is intermittent and you’re unable to reproduce it consistently, it makes the investigation a bit more challenging.

The next time the issue occurs, could you please try to capture the following information?

    • A screenshot of any error message displayed on the frontend.
    • Any browser console errors (Developer Tools → Console).
    • Any Network tab errors related to Stripe requests.
    • The affected order number (if applicable).

Since the issue appears to resolve temporarily after updating the Stripe plugin and then reoccur later, having this information while the problem is actively happening will give us a much better chance of identifying the root cause.

For now, because the site is functioning correctly and the issue cannot be reproduced, there isn’t enough evidence to determine whether this is caused by the WooCommerce Stripe Gateway itself or an interaction with another plugin, theme, cache, or server-level optimization.

Please let us know if the issue returns and we’ll be happy to investigate further.
