Incompatible Old Cache File Loaded

    I bid you well.

    Upon activating this plugin, I notice the following while viewing the plugin settings: “CSS 2.1.5 Incompatible (old) CSS file, probably due to inappropriate caching. Please delete browser’s cache and all other caches used and then reload this page.”

    I looked for a solution, emptied the cache on my iMac, and I reloaded the page. Unfortunately, the bold error code is still present. When I searched for an entry in the support section for this plugin, you provided an answer to the individual.

    However, this person didn’t respond to your solution. Nonetheless, I followed the steps mentioned to no avail. Therefore, could you please provide further assistance on correcting this issue?

    Please make sure there are no Javascript errors on the settings page.

    I’m seeing the same error. No javascript errors reported on the settings page.

    Looking at your script, version detection appears to be started with:

    var css_version = $('#data').css ('font-family').replace(/\"/g, '');

    What I see in javaconsole:

    > jQuery('#data').css('font-family').replace(/\"/g, '')
< "'2.1.5'"

    Looks like the single-quote character is what needs to be stripped.

    Also, to avoid any conflict with other plugins it would be best to use a better ID string than data. Maybe ad-inserter-data?

    The only error that appears in the settings of Ad Inserter is what I posted above.

    Based on Ken’s response to your comment, it appears that he’s more knowledgeable in this area than I am.

    Therefore, in relation to what’s causing this issue, perhaps Ken has located something that others may have missed.

    Nonetheless, what’s the next step to solve my compatibility issue?

    Igor,

    I’m not sure if you’re responding to me since your initial response addressed Ken.

    With that said, are you asking me to try “development version?”

    If the answer is yes, I will have to try that when I’m in front of a computer, and I’ll get back to you on the results upon doing so.

    Yes, since the development version fixes the issue mentioned by Ken.
    It will very likely also solve your problem.

    Yup it worked – got a Javascript warming – probably cached.

    cleared the cache and works fine on Chrome and Safari on Mac

    Igor,

    Good day mate. Upon downloading the development version, I encountered a javascript error. However, upon clearing the cache, the error message disappeared.

    The problem is now solved, so I want to thank you for assisting me on this matter. If other users end up experiencing this issue at some point, this post will serve them well.
