Incoming links RSS Error
-
I tried to find information with Google but I didn’t find much information to fix my problem. Starting 2 months ago I’m getting this error in my dashboard (see here: http://imgur.com/VvWny). I asked my hosting company and they said that they changed nothing. Can somebody help me ?

You are welcome mate 🙂
Thank you Demlasjr,
THis worked for me : https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=link:http://YOUR-WEBSITE-URL&tbm=blg&output=rss
Hi everyone,
I still can’t get this to work. This is the URL I am putting in the Incoming Links URL field:
https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=link:http://wwwdotbostalletsdotse/&tbm=blg&output=rss (of course with the “dots” replaced with actual dots…)
Is it not supposed to e.g. list links coming from Facebook etc? Also, am I right in thinking it should list links to all pages on the domain, not just blog posts? This blog is more of a standard site with a “no-post” home page, only the news page has posts on it.
Any ideas why this doesn’t work?
Carin
Hi Carin !
As I know, no facebook shouldn’t be included because the content is not indexed by Google.
Also, adding the link that way I posted above, you should get the incoming links for all the domain, not only for the first page. Thanks for reply. I have put in that URL as you said, but I only get links from the actual blog itself. Any ideas why this is?
Carin
Correction, if I put the URL as you said demlasjr, then I don’t get any links at all, but if I use it without the link:http// bit then I get links from the blog itself. This is really weird!
Carin
Hmm…weird, looks like Google changed the way the links are displayed.
The only way to make right now the “incoming links” works is this way:
https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=”www.domain.com”&tbm=blg&output=rss
The problem is that the widget in wordpress doesn’t accept ” in the link. I will try to find this days an alternative or a way to accept those ”
Hi again,
Thanks for your help demlasjr. When I use that URL I get a message saying there is no RSS feed there, but if I add /feed/ I get a list of links, I guess because the home page doesn’t actually have any blog entries? But the entries it does list are again links from the blog itself, not external links that I can find when doing a search in Google Blog Search.
This is really annoying me now! 🙂 Is there another way of getting to display this data?
Carin
I use Google reader on chrome to test these links and i fould the following:
if I use demlasjr ‘s url i get :
“link:http://www.mydomain.com – Google Blog Search” has no items.
but if I use trackero‘s url i get proper feed on google feed reader.
pivaladmin
Using trackero’s url you get everything containing a word you have in your link.
Example:
Your domain: pepperoni-pizza.com
You will get in that feed every single website which is talking about pepperoni, pizza or both.
Give it a try:http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=www.pepperoni-pizza.com&tbm=blg&output=rss
As you see, that’s not the solution.
However, I just found the solution as I promised to Carin. By now we should use:
http://www.google.com/search?ie=utf-8&q=link:www.YOUR-DOMAIN.COM/&tbm=blg&tbs=sbd:1&output=rssAs you guys see, the language (hl=en) disappear now from the link.
@carin: I tried your website but I’m getting no result, even if there is a website pointing to your blog. Why ? I have no fucking idea. As I see it’s kinda google bug.
I will explain why: If you check this link:
http://www.google.com/search?ie=utf-8&q=link:http://wwwdotbostalletsdotse/&tbm=blg (replace “dot” with .) you will see one result. But if you add “output=rss” (http://www.google.com/search?ie=utf-8&q=link:http://wwwdotbostalletsdotse/&tbm=blg&output=rss) to that link, there is 0 results. Maybe that website blocked trackback, no idea.
As you can see it’s working fine with big websites:
http://www.google.com/search?ie=utf-8&q=link:www.pizzahut.com/&tbm=blg&tbs=sbd:1&output=rssAnd html: http://www.google.com/search?ie=utf-8&q=link:www.pizzahut.com/&tbm=blg&tbs=sbd:1
To check the number of backlinks, you can go here: http://www.google.com/blogsearch
If you search for “wwwdotbostalletsdotse” (change dot with .) you will see like 5 links: 4 from your website, one of them from other website, displayed in the link I gave you above.
So guys, the new solution to get the backlinks correctly is:
http://www.google.com/search?ie=utf-8&q=link:www.YOUR-DOMAIN.COM/&tbm=blg&tbs=sbd:1&output=rssBest regards,
LaszloThe Solution is simple:
Click “Configure” on the right top of your link:
Enter the RSS feed URL here:
https://www.google.com/search?ie=utf-8&q=link:http://media-islam.or.id/&tbm=blg&tbs=sbd:1&output=rssChange media-islam.or.id with your domain name.

Still not working for me – nothing comes up when I add that link with my domain. And when I go to Google Blog search and type my domain in there, I get a long list of links, of which only a handful are ones that have my URL. A LOT of them just pull up search results that have my name in them (name is my domain and there are a LOT of “me” out there.) Frustrated and I think this stupid thing isn’t worth the aggravation! LOL Ah well…
