Hi there, I’ve been trying to get this working and I’ve been unable to get the location aspect of it working. I’ve set up the Google API and can enter the location when editing the event. However when typing the location in does not autocomplete (I assume that’s what its supposed to do) and when the event is viewed the location is not displayed.

I’ve got this on a test site with minimal plugins loaded.

If it does not show address suggestions, then the Google Key is not valid.
Check your browser javascript console for errors.

    I checked, no errors unfortunately

I disabled all other plugins except BP and switched to 2016, no change in behaviour. I installed it on another test site I’ve got, no change in behaviour, auto-complete does not show and the location field does not get saved – no map.

I checked Java and not getting any errors.

No I was wrong, I am getting an error
TypeError: 1.position(…) is undefined seems to be calling http://ajax.googleapis.com webfont/js but I think that’s the theme calling its fonts.

I’ve tried numerous times to get this working on two different test sites, no autocomplete and no errors, I can create an error if I change the key, this confirms I’m using the right key.

Not necessarily – it just means that you have a key that google recognizes.
But your key was probably not created properly (you need to add and enable all 3 google api) and is failing silently.

I just created a new key and tested it and it works fine.

Hi Shane, that explains it, I had no idea you needed to enable three API for it to work, after all this has not been mentioned until you just did.

Noe if I look at the list of available API for maps I can see a whole bunch of API’s, could you confirm which ones I should be enabling?

    Google Maps Android API
    Google Maps SDK for iOS
    Google Maps JavaScript API
    Google Places API for Android
    Google Places API for iOS
    Google Maps Roads API

    Google Static Maps API
    Google Street View Image API
    Google Maps Embed API
    Google Places API Web Service
    Google Maps Geocoding API
    Google Maps Directions API
    Google Maps Distance Matrix API
    Google Maps Geolocation API
    Google Maps Elevation API
    Google Maps Time Zone API
