I have imported my previous Blog Posts on another platform to WP using a RSS feed, but I have not been able to get the comments to import into WP.

Any thoughts? Outside of copy/pasting each specific comment into the previous Blog post, which will not allow a back date?

  • Just to clarify – do you mean another platform like joomla, drupal or blogger? If so, what platform?

I ask this because if you were importing from another WP platform elsewhere, you would be exporting XML from the old WP and importing the file to the new WP and not using the RSS feed.

    Mercime – thanks for response.
For clarification…I was using Quickblogcast, which was a Godaddy hosting platform. I may be using the verbage incorrectly, not sure if platform is the correct technical term. But, I successfully imported the previous 100 Blog Posts from QBC into WP, but have not been able to determine how to get the Comments to go with the posts.

pjones23, I’ve never used Quickblogcast before nor imported it. But to assist you, I’ve added godaddy and quickblogcast tags on the right column here.
Better yet, you could close this thread and post a new one with this as title: “How to Import Comments from Godaddy Quickblogcast to WP?”
I’ve seen some Godaddy persons helping out in the forums. No guarantee they will help you with new topic but at least it’s clearer.

Again, Thanks Mercime. I close this and start over.
