Import Only Importing Images

    Hello,

    A little background on what I am trying to do: I want to redo a website off-line, and then take it live to replace the existing one. I need to keep the blog posts that are on our site.

    I exported the site from our host yesterday. Today I installed a fresh copy of WP (thru bitnami), and attempted to import the site to my local. All of the media imported, but nothing else. Just the blog images.

    I used WPimporter. Can anyone give me any insight into why this happened, and some advice for importing the site as a whole. If there is a way to import just the blog entries and their associated media, that would be great, as that is really all I need to keep from the existing site.

    Hi,

    when you did the export did you select all ?

    when you did the import didn’t you get any messages from the importer?

    Thank you. Yes, I did get a message saying something along the lines of it could not complete the action. However, I just downloaded another import/export plug-in and it worked fine.
