Have you looked at the ‘thumbnail’ section here:

The plugin provides limited support for images and as you say since CSV can’t carry images, it just uses image paths and you’re expected to ensure that the images are already on the server in the right place.

I guess it’s more complicated, but taking you literally, you could just change the ‘post_type’ column from [your cpt] to ‘post’ and the featured image should be preserved. The plugin doesn’t yet support galleries or image links in the content, but in this case, those would stay the same.
