Import from Sermon Browser

    I’ve just installed Sermon Manager and used the ‘Import’ function to bring in the catalogue of sermons currently stored in Sermon Browser. I read the details of the import in a blog post here https://wordpress.org/support/topic/updates-are-coming-very-soon/ detailing the fields that are imported:

    If you use just the basic fields, namely:

    Speaker
    Message Title
    Sermon Series
    Date
    Scripture passage
    Message audio URL
    Service Type

    Then our importing feature will work for you.

    I also read here about the limitations of the import https://wpforchurch.com/my/knowledgebase/96/Importing.html

    The import seemed to go smoothly but many of the fields were not imported. The fields that were imported were:

    Speaker
    Message Title
    Sermon Series
    Message audio URL

    The date preached seems to have become the date published and the date preached field has not been imported. Neither the Scripture Passage or the Service Type have been imported meaning these fields are blank.

    Is this a problem which occurred during the import? Or is this a limitation of the import? Or something else?

    Thanks for the great feedback! 🙂

    Seems like there’s some issue, since all other four items that you mentioned should be imported as well.

    Date preached import functionality could be changed, I agree.
    Scripture Passage is still unsupported, but we are working really hard on getting it in. Thank you for a reminder. (it does get imported, we just lack the functionality for showing it)
    Service Type should be imported as well.

    Yes he did tell me it would be Monday. No worries as there’s no immediate hurry to get it sorted
