Implementing PayPal Donation through GiveWP

Hello there!

My site has been using GiveWP for a few years and recently saw the banner mentioning that PayPal no longer supports PayPal Standard and we should switch over to PayPal Donations.

In trying to make the transition, I have followed all steps outlines in the guides provided, but I continue to receive an error on the front end of the site that says:

“A problem has occurred with the connection between this site and PayPal, preventing donations. Please contact site administrators if reloading the page does not fix the issue. This is usually the result of some JavaScript conflict on the page.”

I reached out to PayPal and their technical support team responded saying that the error is occurring prior to any information reaching their portal. They suggested that I reach out to GiveWP to get assistance.

PayPal did identify the error code they were receiving and sent it to me (see below). I thought this might be helpful to include.

The error you are facing comes from https://knm51d.p3cdn1.secureserver.net/wp-content/plugins/give/assets/dist/js/paypal-commerce.js?ver=2.33.4&time=1696482693, but your site URL is https://bellaease.com/. Did you make any site migrations lately?

You need to make sure that all your URLs are updated, including in your database.

Also, disconnect and connect PayPal.

Hello @matheusfd,

Thank you for your response. I did not make any site migrations lately, so I don’t know why the issue would be coming from a different URL.

Also, I have disconnected and reconnected PayPal to our account a couple of times since this issue has started and that did not fix the problem.

Please let me know if there is anything else you recommend.

Hi, @nwillis.

Are you using any CDN service? Because it contains p3cdn1 in the issue URL. Unless you serve the file from your own URL, it might not work.

Putting myself in your shoes, I’d deactivate any CDN service you have to test it.
