• I moved my blog from one host to another and got everything to work but images in my posts/pages. When I got into my files in my control panel for my host, and i view them, they show fine. no issues. but on the site itself they won’t show up. I checked the url and they still seem to be from the old host and for some reason didn’t transfer over correctly. Is there a way I can change this without having to upload all the images again? I’m not sure why they wouldn’t have changed over well I didn’t change anything in the image folder to make them behave differently than the rest of the blog. thanks in advance for any help. to view the blog if you need to see an example, you will find it at:

    thanks again.

  • The broken images are pointing to

    http://blog.abc123homeschool.com/wp-content/....

    Your domain is http://abc123homeschool.com/wp-content/....

how did i manage that one. i know i was testing moving it before i did and i must have over lapped the move. i tested it on my subdomain before switching. how do I change it? thanks for the response!

In the WP Dashboard, under Settings, General, the third and fourth boxes should say http://abchomeschool.com, NOT http://blog.abchomeschool.com

    Really cute design, BTW. πŸ™‚

it does say http://abc123homeschool.com. in both the blog url and the wordpress url. and thank you for the compliment. whoever created the design did a great job! it’s the bookworm theme. πŸ˜€

i also noticed my users not being moved over. perhaps i didn’t do a great job moving after all…darn!

I’ve found that with the export/import, categories, links and authors often don’t survive the migration. But the database (*.sql) files should have brought the whole enchilada over.

If you went into PHPMyAdmin and exported your database (or if you did it using the plugin WP-Backup), open that *.sql file with a text editor (NOT MS Word!), and you should be able to find where that wrong path is hiding. Also hopefully you’ll find your authors as well.

i still have the old blog up and running so i’m thinking i’ll just try again. i’m going to use the ftp and download it to my computer again like the instructions tell me too here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress
and then i’m going to try changing it as it tells me to and make sure i just didn’t miss something. hopefully it will work. so we will see in a few…lol.

well i’m still not sure what i’m doing wrong since i’m following the instructions but it still isn’t working. i’ll have to go into the phpmyadmin and see what’s going on like you said. what a bummer. not sure what’s going on and where my error is.

Update: I didn’t even look before because all the posts where there and my sitemap and my links page is there but my about page is not showing just like the images. can someone help me figure out how i can resolve this. I went into the phpmyadmin and i’m not sure how to change anything there. thanks
